Steve’s path to becoming a professional home stager and design expert has been the result of a series of rich experiences and daily life influences. As a young college student, Steve worked as a Concierge at San Francisco’s world-renowned Fairmont Hotel. With the Fairmont as his inspiration, Steve helped redecorate his family owned San Francisco Bed & Breakfast guest rooms for his Aunt Helvi. His Aunt was extremely pleased with the results! Each room was unique and designed with the same level of luxury and style as guest rooms in the Fairmont. Steve realized early on he had a natural talent for interior decorating and design. Attention to detail and pride in his work has always been present in his projects. After college, he owned and operated a computer communications sales and service company for over 20 years. Steve’s company designed, installed, and maintained computer networks and servers for Lawrence Berkeley & Livermore National Labs and other high-profile clientele that always demanded perfection and excellent customer service. Prior to selling his company, Steve also worked part time as a real estate agent and later as a real estate broker. When viewing property listings, he would always critique the homes interior and exterior décor and design while imagining what he would have done differently to make the home more appealing to all potential buyers. He could always tell if a home was staged by the seller or a real estate agent rather than a professional home stager. Steve realized early on that professionally staged homes almost always sold faster, above asking price, and received multiple offers. As time went by, he decided he liked real estate, but loved and enjoyed his passion for home staging and design. Also, a home staging business would allow him more time to spend with his family, two dogs Shiloh and Zoey, and adopted grey squirrels George & Gracie who live in the redwood trees surrounding his detached home office. Before formally opening Wine Country Home Staging & Design Services, Steve staged a few of his own listings and some for his associates. His work was well received and highly praised! Based on the overwhelming support and admiration for his early work, Steve decided to pursue his gift and love for home staging and design. He joined the Real Estate Staging Association® (RESA®), attended trade conventions, and began networking with other home stagers and designers. Steve received professional certification for home staging, design, and re-design from The Home Staging Resource® (HSR®). HSR® is a top RESA® accredited educator. Steve has pioneered new and efficient methods to increase productivity and streamline processes to facilitate accelerated staging and de-staging of homes without compromising quality or safety. Steve officially opened Wine Country Home Staging & Design Services in 2020. He is committed to applying the same high level of professional and personal standards of excellence to future clients as he did with his prior business dealings.
